Short Description of Site/Tour
:  Yellow Jacket Pueblo is one of the largest pueblo period archaeological sites in Colorado. 
This Mesa Verde pueblo was occupied from around AD 1050 to 1270.  The site is one of the 38 large habitation sites with
public architecture located in the Mesa Verde region.  There is a great house, great kiva, and a large tower feature.  Test
excavations have been completed by Crow Canyon Archaeological Center.

Tour times/Length
:  Meet at 9:00 AM; tour lasts 1½ to 2 hours.

: Car pooling is recommended.  The Yellow Jacket Archaeological Preserve is owned and protected
by The Archaeological Conservancy.  Denis Boon is the Site Steward.
