Description of Site/Tour: First we will visit the large Mitchell
Springs site complex including a partially excavated great kiva. Then we will
cross to
the north side of McElmo Creek to visit Hawkins Pueblo, a “neighborhood” of
Mitchell Springs.
Meeting Place Location: Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St.,
Cortez
(A map will be provided.)
Tour Time/Length: 9 AM – 1 PM
Other information: Carpooling is optional. Bring water, food & sun
screen.
